| Greenford Celtic B | 5 |
| Pinner Albion | 2 |
This was Pinner Albion’s last league game of the season against league leaders Greenford Celtic B. With a strong wind against them, Pinner Albion were pinned back in the early stages and found it difficult to break out of their own half.
The dam burst spectacularly after 15 minutes, when Pinner Albion conceded four goals in a crazy six minutes, with the defence either failing to clear the ball or make an effective challenge for all four of the goals.
After that, Pinner Albion gained a stronger foothold in the match and began to put some pressure onto Greenford Celtic. As the match entered injury time at the end of the first half, it looked like Pinner Albion were going to go in to the break without scoring, but with the clock ticking down, Achish played a good ball across, where Robert met the ball with a left footed volley to drive the ball emphatically into the back of the net for a sublime goal.
That should have given Pinner Albion a boost going into the second half, but they conceded again three minutes into the half. Frustratingly, the wind had dropped in the second half, so Pinner Albion were unable to gain the advantage that Greenford Celtic had enjoyed in the first half. Nevertheless, Pinner Albion were much more competitive in the second half and the game was much better balanced.
Just before the midpoint in the half, Achish was the provider again, as he sent the ball across for Ben. His first attempt to place the ball over the keeper was parried, but Ben followed up to slot the ball home.
Pinner Albion looked to reduce the deficit further, but there were no further goals from either team.
Pinner Albion were not at their best in this match, particularly in the first half. The man of the match award went to Robert for producing the outstanding moment of the match with a magnificent goal that would be a strong contender for goal of the season in this or any other season.
